What is Matters?

Matters is where you ask a question, share what worked for you, or discuss budgeting, saving, and support strategy with other members โ€” without tying it to a specific money request. It's a sibling tab to Community+ on the marketplace page, not a sub-feature of it.

๐Ÿ’ก Who can use it? Any registered Garder user. Post a question or a discussion topic, or just comment and react on someone else's.

Posting in Matters

A Matters post works like a Community+ post minus the amount field โ€” a title, body, and an optional category tag for the discussion topic. Other members can comment, react, and @mention each other, same as anywhere else on the platform.

Most Helpful Replies

As the original poster, you can mark one reply on your Matters post as "Most Helpful." It surfaces the best answer for anyone reading the thread later, without deleting or hiding the other replies.

Badges & Reactions

Matters reuses the same badge, reaction, and comment infrastructure as the Community+ feed โ€” posting, commenting, and reacting in Matters counts toward the same badge progression. There's no separate Matters-only badge track.

Instead of Community+'s Support / Question / Will Offer reactions, a Matter gets ๐Ÿ‘ This helped and โ“ Follow-up โ€” there's no money involved, so "Will Offer" doesn't apply. Individual replies also support a small emoji-reaction picker of their own.

Matters posts can be reported for admin review or personally blocked, the same as everywhere else on the marketplace โ€” see the Marketplace guide for how reporting and blocking work. Post text is also checked for "loan/lend/borrow" language, since Garder uses support language throughout.

Boosting & Sharing a Matter

๐Ÿš€ Boost puts your name behind a Matter you think deserves more attention โ€” a repost, without adding a reply. Tap it again to remove your Boost. The ๐Ÿ”— share icon copies a public link to the thread along with a ready-to-send message, so you can point people to it off-platform.

Points โ€” Boosting earns you +2 points, and the Matter's author earns +5. Sharing earns you +2 points the first time you share a given Matter โ€” sharing it again re-copies the link but doesn't add more points.

When Matters is sorted by Ranked instead of Latest, threads are ordered by This helped reactions plus Boosts and shares (each weighted differently), then by recency โ€” so a genuinely useful Matter can outrank a newer one.

FAQ

Is Matters the same as Community+?

No โ€” they're sibling tabs on the marketplace page. Community+ is the money-request feed; Matters is discussion without a request attached.

Does a Matters post affect my trust score?

No. Matters activity feeds into your community score and badge progression, the same as Community+ engagement, but it has no repayment or support-plan history attached, so it doesn't touch trust score.

Can I attach an amount to a Matters post?

No. If you need to attach an amount, post in the Community+ feed instead.

Can I mark more than one reply as Most Helpful?

No โ€” one reply per post.

Can I Boost or share my own Matter?

Yes, both are open to anyone including the original poster, though Boosting your own Matter doesn't earn you the author-side points โ€” those only trigger when someone else Boosts it.
